Mette Bersang has exhibited work internationally for two decades. Recent selected exhibitions include At Home She is a Tourist Copeland gallery (London 2017), Collected Works Rathaus Meppen (Meppen 2015), What Should Have Remained Secret Has Come to Light Format Galleri ( Malmö 2014
Her work is included in the collections of the Aarhus exhibition space Galleri Image, The Abbey Neümunster in Luxembourg and KØS – Museum of Art in The Public Space in Køge, Denmark.
Bersang studied photography at the Arts University Bournemouth receiving the Metro Student Bursary in 2003 for her Final Major project Interior. She then went on to study Visual Culture at the University of Copenhagen receiving a top grade and acknowledgement for her master thesis Study of a Girl – A Dissertation on the Sublime Photograph and The Photographic Cyborg. Whilst still at University Bersang co-founded and edited the photography magazine Filter – for fotografi, and then worked as the image editor for the journal Kvinder, køn og forskning (Women, Gender and Science) at centre for Gender Studies at the University of Copenhagen. She is currently a member of the exhibition board at Galleri Image in Aarhus where she has curated several exhibitions and is involved in the European project Parallel – European photo-based platform.
